*CH30, in second CH from hook, HDC and repeat across CH. (29 HDC). When you get to bottom, SC in next 3ST of last round.* Then repeat from *to* around for about ten legs. SLPST to last leg. FO weave in ends.
EYES, BODY, AND SHAPING:
- Insert safety eyes and stuff the bulky part of the head.
- Then hold the opening shut (making sure that it is horizontal to the eyes) and sew it shut.
- Fold head back and sew a few stitches to the back of the squid, so it looks like the head is leaning back.
Weave in all ends and enjoy.
You can do this with any size yarn and hook and get the same octopus!
I love this octopus!! Thank you for the pattern!!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to tell you that I love this octopus pattern. I have a small horde of them amassing in my apartment. Thank you for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can help me with this pattern. Isn't there more of the body after the last
DeletePlease help. What is the rest of the patter after th 2sc Inc
DeleteThe reason their isn't more to the octopus after the SC2, INC. is because you start doing the tentacles (you CH30 on that part) after the SC2, INC. What kind of yarn are you using? This really looks best with bulky yarn, but in theory it should be fine with other weights.
DeleteI am absolutely in love with this pattern.I have tried so many patterns (with no luck) several times to make a octopus toy for my first grandchild and I am happy to say that I started this pattern and before I knew it it was finished, in no time I created the cutest and easiest octopus ever. Thank you so very much for this pattern. I really appreciate it so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kati! :)
DeleteI can't wait to make this one! My grandson has an affinity to the ocean (Dad is a surfer) - so I think this will be a wonderful lovie for him! Thank you for the pattern!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this wonderful pattern! It does seem like it got mixed up with one for a squid though? I adapted the pattern a bit to give it a more realistic shape but I think sewing the mantle back was a really nice touch! In any case, I'm calling mine Luci and I'm wearing her on a hat to my regional Ocean Science Bowl.
ReplyDeleteomg... Best comment ever and yeah, you're right! :) I would love to see a picture of this hat! It sounds awesome! :)
DeleteI'm so sorry for the late reply! How do I send you the photo?

DeleteHola me encantó este pequeño amigo. Pero me parece que está mezclado el patrón o yo no puedo visualizarlo bien. Alguien me ayuda
ReplyDelete¿Con qué parte tienes problemas?
DeleteHi, would I be able to sell items made from this pattern provided I credited you as the designer?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I don't mind at all. .Ty for being considerate!
DeleteHow is everyone closing the bottom? I dont want to ruin the shape
ReplyDeleteIf you scroll to the bottom of the pattern, underneath the picture there are instructions on how to do it. I haven't had them labeled as such, since I made this pattern, and have added a label to make it more obvious. Sorry about that confusion.
DeleteThank you for this amazing pattern. I live my new octopus so much!
ReplyDeleteHii. I was just wondering how do I credit you for the pattern on my instagram store post?
ReplyDeleteCan you just say, "Pattern by xxcatalopexx." it can be googled.
