12" - Great Granny Bars

Materials:• WW Yarn (used Red Heart, Aran)
• H Hook – I crochet tight, so use whatever you need to get right guage.
• Tapestry Needle for Tucking In Ends

Instructions: Work the first six rounds of a traditional granny square. I ONLY DID 2DC, CH2, 2DC in all of my corners. If for some reason you do not end your row in a corner, SLPST into the corner for each round; however, you should be fine.

Row 1: CH3, DC, CH2, 2DC in corner. *CH2, 1DC in CH1 spot of previous round,( CH3 DC1 in CH1 spot) 4 times, then CH2. In corner work 2DC, CH2, 2DC* Repeat from ** around, ending by joining to BEG CH3.

Row 2: In corner, CH3, DC, CH2, 2DC, CH1. * 2DC in next spot,CH1, (3DC, CH1) four times, then 2DC CH1, work corner. * around. Join to BEG chain 3.

Row 3: In corner, CH3, DC, CH2, 2DC. DC in each DC and CH1 spot around to corner, working 2DC, CH2, 2DC in each corner. Join to BEG CH3.

Row 4: In corner, CH3, DC, CH2, 2DC, CH2. *Skip 2ST, DC in next ST, CH2 to end of row.* Work 2DC, CH2, 2DC in each corner. Join to BEG CH3.

Row 5: In corner, CH3, DC, CH2, 2DC. *CH1, 2DC in next spot to corner, working 2DC, CH2, 2DC, in each corner. * around. Join to BEG CH3.

Row 6: In corner, CH2, HDC, CH2, 2HDC. HDC in each ST and space around, working 2HDC, CH2, 2HDC in each corner. Measure your square, if it does not measure exactly 12”, then add additional rows of SC.

Corrections/Alternate Directions: If Row 4 does not work for you, try only skipping one stitch and chaining one stitch.
