Recovering From An Injury and Other Stuff

A Commission I did.

So I decided to help an old woman get a wood doll house out of the trash for a little girl that she claimed had no toys.   Later on that day I felt the intense pain of a pulled muscle.  I waited a day and went to the Urgent Care center, they gave me a shot and then sent me on my way with two prescriptions.  I had to quit taking both of them, because the muscle relaxant was making my pain worse and the Naproxen was making me lethargic.

It took a day or so to come off the Naproxen, but it triggered a terrifying episode of sleep paralysis, that I never want to have again.   I saw this giant red gargoyle sitting on my abdomen and I couldn't do anything!  I could move my leg, but it seemed nothing was making me move.

Sleep paralysis is when you wake up before your REM cycle has finished, i.e. your eyes open but your body is still asleep.   I.E. why they call it "sleep paralysis" and it's not pleasant at all.

So when I discussed my injury with a friend of mine, they suggested that half the battle was a vitamin deficiency, and they were right.   I took one capsule of calcium and things changed almost immediately.  I am also taking this thing called "Joint Care" it's a giant black pill but it brings back mobility to my arm and as a result my muscles haven't been stressed out and can heal quicker.   I am also taking Potassium and Magnesium Citrate.

I did start a crochet project before all this happened; however, the weakness in my left arm made it to difficult to do anything.  :(    I'll be fine though.   I have been working on coloring pages and just doing my nails and playing some Dota2.  I will add some pictures of what I have.

I am finding that I prefer colored pencils over markers because blending with a pencil is much easier than without.

This one is finished, but I didn't take a picture of the completed page.    I love coloring pages, because I get to be artistic and not have to  pull out all of these supplies!   It's simple and I can start, stop, and finish when I feel like it.

I was just looking through the old photos that I have posted on this website and I think I might share some for laughs.

When my son wasn't so mobile!

Now he's riding the bus to school! :(

Hello...... I am still alive.

I can't say I have done much over the past few months, crochet wise.  Just a few orders here and there for people.  That has consisted mostly of octopus and Ewoks!  LOL.

I have no pattern for this guy, he will probably end up in my free amigurumi patterns.

As of lately, I've been having a great time doing these adult coloring books!  I tell you what, it's a lot easier to pull out a pack of pencils and start coloring, and not have to draw everything to color.  Kind of like a quick fix you know?

This is one of the first pages that I colored with marker.  "Stress Relieving Patterns" -Blue Star books.  It was a Christmas present from my husband.

This guy is an official first grader and loving the snow.  I had my back to him while walking back to our apartment, I turned to check on him and this is what I saw! Hah.  All and all, life has been treating the Herman family pretty nicely.  This is about all I have to say for now.  Hopefully there wont be another ten month gap in-between updates!

Yeah, my ears just melted from the awesomeness...

In other news, I am knee deep in crochet projects, and I don't regret it.. .but Momma, if I don't make it out of the mound of yarn... I died a happy death!

Living on a prayer...

I love this song, especially being sung by Alex Goot.  I remember hearing it in the 80's, but it's just nice to hear it now.   Well, I have nothing new to say.   Just thought I would share the music.

Guess I could talk about what is going on in our lives.   Not much.  Robert, Noah, and I went to the zoo recently on a free admission and parking day (bonus).  I can share some pictures below.
We saw the polar bear eat herring, peanut butter, and I also heard they are fed dog food on occasion, which was surprising.
He wasn't amused.  Especially when I said "You want to ride an elephant, " and then walked over to the elephant statue lol.
We got to see a magic show by Eli, a magician from Toledo, OH.
It was fun to watch this guy start carving out the angel fish sculpture.

And that is it for my update.

I have no clue...

Honestly, I am at a loss for what to design, and I am a month behind.  Frankly, I don't like putting out designs that look like crap and I don't want to have my name attached to that.

So until I get my groove back, I suppose I will try to find some other way to be innovative.  I want to try making this crocheted wreath I found on the internet.  I did get the parts I needed for it.  Just want to make it my own.

Anyways, I love this group called "The Piano Guys" and here is their newest video. It's awesome!

The entire song was made on this one piano, using various parts of the instrument.

Confession: I like Katy Perry and Chad Vader + Knitting Update

Ok, I admit, I do like Katy Perry!   Not fond of her graphic songs, but the rest are great! :)  Honestly,  I don't have anything else to blog about, but I like watching videos lol... Yeah.

If you want to watch a funny web series, watch the series below.
I guess I should update you with a project or two.  I choose one!

Dig This Chickadee

This girl has an amazing voice and sing some of these songs better than the originals.  Ok, well in other words, she dosn't butcher the music.

Music For the Mundane Monday

Another lovely song that I discovered while watching "The Glee Project," on Hulu.com!  I love songs that tell a story about the artist's life or a memory.  It makes it so much more interesting.  It's called using your brain instead of vomitting out the same crap all the time and calling it a "song".

More than Metaphysical!

Finally a Christian song that talks about the miracles of God.  I LOVE Tait being part of Newsboys now.  He's a good addition to the band.

Some funny stuff lol.

I watch a show called "The Glee Project" it's a reality show dedicated to auditioning new people for Glee.  One of the girls had to "sing for her life" a song by Carrier Underwood.  So I went on YouTube and saw the video.  It was kind of hilarious.
